TROY - The Towanda defense that showed up to Alparon Park can only be described as relentless and goal-oriented (that goal being to pull away with the victory against the Troy Trojans in the first round of AA high school football playoffs).

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - The South Williamsport Mountaineers entertained the visiting Canton Warriors in the opening round of the District Four Class-A football championships.

TOWANDA - The Bronze Helmet trophy stays in Towanda and the Black Knights punched their ticket to the District IV AA Playoffs next week with a 42-10 win over their arch rival the Wyalusing Rams.

TROY - Friday's game at Alparon Park marked the 60th anniversary of the annual Old Shoe Game between the Troy Trojans and the Canton Warriors.

ATHENS - The Wildcats closed out their season on a high note Friday night, defeating Sayre 49-0 in the Rusty Rail game.

Dominick Bragalone had three touchdowns and 259 yards rushing on just 11 carries to lead South Williamsport past Sayre 55-24 in NTL Small School football action Friday.

CANTON - The hosting Canton Warriors entertained the visiting Indians of Cowanesque Valley in a crucial game with playoff implications on the line for the Warriors.

TROY - It was a battle of the underrated and of the determined last night at Alparon Park. The Troy Trojans reeled in their eighth victory of the season with a score of 38-28 over the visiting Athens Wildcats, who fought a good fight.

With leading rusher Bryce Zaparzynski out Levi Christman stepped up for North Penn-Mansfield in a 36-15 win over Wyalusing on Friday night.
